What about cleaning a grinder? Actually, many people avoid cleaning their grinder; purist people saying that all that resin, or those weed traces, are lost. It is not true; when cleaning, we can profit the inner traces and, anyway, cleansing is totally necessary from time to time because the grinder does not twist properly: possibly, you do not like it, but, you know, you have no choice!
Following up, we are talking about several cleansing ways, so it would keep properly maintained for you to use it continuously, depending on the kind of grinder you have (plastic, metal, wood, with or without serigraphy…); among these numerous options, choose the one you prefer.
Blade and cotton swab, or toothbrush:
100% basic. Surely, you have tried this. It is simple; scratch carefully inside the grinder, with a blade, knife or hard wire, and empty these traces on your paper, so you can smoke it afterwards. If you freeze it beforehand, it will be much better, because the traces will fall off easier. Finally, we can use a cotton swab, or toothbrush, to finish the work.
Mary tea:
Interesting for the whole retrieval of the inner traces; first of all, we have to clean the external part of the grinder with soap or dishwasher; it is the part that we place everywhere, or that we touch with our dirty hands. It has to be totally closed, so soap will not enter it. THC is fat-soluble, that is, it dissolved in fat, not water, so, once cleared, we will heat a pan with milk (milk has fat) and we will dip our open grinder; be careful, because milk is burned fast! This way, on monitored heat, in a few minutes, the inner traces will be softened, and that fabulous resin will be in our tea.
Pure alcohol:
As mentioned previously, we firstly have to clean its external part with soap because it will be dirty, and not because of weed… Then, we impregnate it properly and we let it rest, or we directly dip it into pure alcohol; later, it will be softened, even with alcohol changing its color, and we can use a cotton swab, or a toothbrush, to keep it perfect. All our THC will be dissolved in that alcohol and, if we pour it in a small tupper or glass and we let it dry (alcohol evaporates fast), we will have a nice, simple extraction on the following day, without any resin losses from the grinder. Be careful with 80/90º pharmacy alcohol, because they usually contain harmful excipients, so we will not be able to recycle the dissolved substance; we have to use pure alcohol.
Cannabis shot:
In this case, instead of dipping the grinder – after cleaning its external part – into pure alcohol, we can dip it into top-alcohol spirit drinks, like whisky, vodka, gin, firewater or rum; when softened, we can use a toothbrush. Actually, it is better from 40º on; then, drink it, so you benefit everything.
Solvent:
Another very simple method. Impregnate properly with solvent, or dip it and, then, rub with a toothbrush; logically, the resulting liquid will not be useful, so it will be disregarded.
Conclusions:
When benefitting the inner resin, the method is very important; 100% mechanical (blade or brush with no liquid) or with milk, pure alcohol or spirit drinks – no solvents, no pharmacy alcohol.
For all the methods, finishing the work with a little brush or cotton swab is recommended, if we notice it is not totally clean.
If our grinder has paint which could be dissolved in pure alcohol, be careful with those parts if you want to benefit the resulting substance, because, if some paint gets dissolved, it could be toxic.
We wish you liked it. You know, if you find it useful, you can help us by sharing this post on your social networks.
Big up and nice smoke!
