What are marijuana seeds?
Marijuana (Cannabis) is a plant that can reproduce both sexually and asexually. When we talk of asexual reproduction we are referring to the execution of cuttings or clones of a mother plant.
Cannabis reproduces sexually by seeds. Marijuana is a dioecious plant. That means, it produces male or stamen plants which flowers generate pollen. Marijuana also produces female egg-producing plants which are fertilized with the male pollen. Later on, Marijuana Seeds will be generated and, in the future, they will form a new specimen, ensuring the survival of the specie.
Each seed of marijuana is composed by the genes of its parents, father and mother. These genes will dictate the characteristics of the future plant: growth pattern, plant shape, smell, taste, effect or the concentration of cannabinoids such as THC or CBD. Generally, cannabis seeds are classified into three main categories:

Main characteristics.
Marijuana seeds have a different appearance depending on the strain: some are darker, others are whitish and their size are also very different. To know if a seed of Marijuana is a good quality one, first of all, we have to take a look at its appearance. Good mature seeds will be hard and dark or brown with spots. Depending on the strain, the size will vary. For example, indica strains tend to produce large seeds with stripes, and sativa seeds tend to be smaller, with little markings on the seed casing.
Good quality mature seeds have a vigorous germination and produce strong and robust marijuana plants. On the other hand, if they are whitish, green, cracked or weak, these seeds will be unlikely to germinate or if they do it, will probably produce weak plants. Seeds must be in a cool, dark and dry place, with a humidity of less than 5% and a temperature that oscillates between 2-10ºC. Seeds over one-year-old, even if they are kept in good conditions, will lose vigor in germination and will become old.
